Orienteering

Orienteering is a fun outdoor activity that can be enjoyed by all. You do not need to be athletic or have any prior skills. We provide all the equipment and the technical expertise.
By the end of the session you will all be reading maps - a valuable life skill.
Orienteering has much to offer young people. It is an excellent way of promoting a healthier life style. It's fun, it encourages you to visit the countryside and it has a place in the curriculum of Primary and Secondary schools.
The venues used are often Permanent courses in country parks, scout camps etc. or other suitable areas where a map is available and we are able to design our own course. Nothing is too strenuous or too long.
The session usually lasts about two hours and will start with a safety brief, followed by some skill training, and finishing with a mini competition.
Orienteering can be delivered to the group participating as individuals or as a team event. It is ideal as part of a corporate challenge.
The activity takes place outdoors so you will need to bring suitable clothing for the prevailing conditions on the day. Our orienteering sessions are held away from shops so it is also advisable to bring any food or drinks you may require.
Why not combine this with another activity and make a day of it. Depending on the venue it can be linked with any of the following:
Archery
Team building/Problem solving exercises
Climbing
Abseiling
